Into The Realm Of Magic
"मला Hogwarts ला जायचंय ." ( "I want to go to Hogwarts.") This sentence of mine would echo through my house every afternoon, since I had started reading Harry Potter in 7th grade. Thanks to J.K Rowling, Rick Riordan, Veronica Roth and many other great authors, I tremendously envied Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and Tris. I was furious with the idea that all cool, magical things were reserved to happen with these characters only. Where did people like me go wrong? Determined to find an answer to this question, I had actually planned to go to King's Cross, dash through the wall to reach 9 3/4th platform and visit Hogwarts; though I knew that I would probably end up breaking all the 22 bones present in my skull. So, it might be clear to you that I was utterly despaired with the fact that nothing magical happened with folks like us. Until... my definition of magic changed, and I began to find traces of magic in everyday life.
Today I feel that magic is not a readymade commodity that choses its suitors, but is the potential stored in everyone's heart, waiting to be unleashed. That is why, nothing magical happens to those who sit and wait for it to happen. The people, who instead of waiting for a चमत्कार , simply create it, are the ones who are the true wizards and demigods of this world. We often assume magic to be something beyond human control, but would you not call the journey of a tea-seller into a Prime Minister, a newspaper vendor into a business tycoon, a ticket collector into a world class cricketer, a slum-dwelling boy into an IAS officer, an acid attack survivor into an activist, and every honest individual trying to make a mark in this world, magical? Though these heroes and heroines do not have wands and potions with them, they do have qualities such as hard work, perseverance, optimism, bravery and humility, which are key spells for transforming every situation into a magical one.
Thus I have come to know that magical events do not take place when someone says Avada Kedavra or asks the security guard of the Empire State Building to take them to Olympus. Magic happens when you discover your hidden potential, work on it proactively and lift others along with yourself. Doing this seems pretty much safe and rewarding for people like me instead of dashing into the wall at King's Cross, right?
So, to end, I must say that do not simply believe in magic, believe in CREATING it.

Until next time.
Very true Radha. Magic happens in one's life when one is ready to explore, determined to shine and at the same time open to criticism. Magic has to be created. I am sure writing blogs has certainly created magic in your life.
