Is Staying Safe At Home Enough?
I remember the day clearly when our school team consisting of U-19 boys, U-19 girls and U-17 girls, was going for CBSE West Zone Handball Tournament- 2018, to be held in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. We had arrived at platform number 3 of the Jaipur Junction Railway Station, the Headquarters of the Indian Northern Railways, to board a connecting train to Bharatpur. Now, like every untimely twist in a movie, we discovered that there was a halt of three hours before the connecting train arrived. Our coaches asked us to gather together on the platform and forbade us to loiter around. Stranded on the platform, we all were standing dismayed, but within ten minutes, our frowns turned into laughter and sulks turned into chatter as we piled our rucksacks at the centre and sat cross- legged in a circle on the platform. We engaged ourselves in weird games, munched on goodies(when you have Gujarati teammates, there is no dearth of delicious Theplas) and converted a supposedly unfortunate situation into a memorable one which we would cherish forever. This was possible because we had accepted and found happiness in the circumstances which we were undergoing.
Looking back to that incident, I feel that today's situation isn't much different either. Today, instead of teammates, we have our family, instead of Jaipur's platform number 3, we have our home, instead of concerned coaches, we have our government, instead of three hours, we have a couple of months and instead of the journey from Jaipur to Bharatpur, we have the Journey of our Life. Accordingly, to convert today's dire situation a memorable one, we only need two things- HOPE to believe that this too shall pass, which will make us happy, and HAPPINESS, which will make us feel hopeful to cherish the present moments. So today, I'm going to share with you what hope and happiness mean to me.
HOPE IT IS
A tiny droplet waits for years in a shell dull,
for its transformation into an exuberant pearl.
Which unseen aura is this?
it's hope my friend, hope it is.
When clouds hide the sun, it starts darkening
a child knows that the night always ends in a morning.
Which unseen aura is this?
it's hope my friend, hope it is.
One after another, when a person starts failing,
an ambition still lives, like a fire burning.
Which unseen aura is this?
it's hope my friend, hope it is.
In the middle of nowhere, a person marooned,
knows that in this world, none are permanently doomed.
Which unseen aura is this?
it's hope my friend, hope it is.
When in difficulty, upward are a person's eyes,
where he knows, the creator lies.
Which unseen aura is this?
it's hope my friend, hope it is.
O DISTRESSED, WHAT IS HAPPINESS
O distressed,
come and express,
what for you,
is happiness.
The dew on the flowers,
the lively spring,
the blush in the winter
and the sweet air unseen,
is happiness.
Look around you,
view the world
with a new attitude.
What you find,
is happiness.
The problems you face,
are like snowfall.
Dark and stormy
and full of misery.
but when you see
little hands building a snowman,
what you find
is happiness.
O distressed
now you see
happiness has its roots
in every situation.
So dig deep in yourself
you will find happiness
as a smile has the power
to beat every prowess.
I feel that there is nothing more ambiguous than the perception of hope and happiness of different people,so I have just expressed my opinion in this blog. I thank everyone who is reading this blog and am open to their feedback.
Thus, to end, I must say that along with staying safe at home, we all should be hopeful and happy to live through these tough times.
So,
Bbye
Until next time
Beautiful ❤️
